Overview

Rivers Guangxi is a Grey Dragonborn Redemption Paladin of Corellon and a core member of the Silver Spear. His devotion to art, people, innocence, redemption, and patience led him to take up adventuring.

Early Life

Born just outside of Gizport to Lakes and X Guangxi, Rivers entered a life marked by negativity. His father and mother were drug addicts and vagrants who often left him alone.

His uncle, Scotch, slowly converted Rivers to his teachings and showed him the importance of leading evil toward a righteous path, rather than taking the easy route of simply stopping it. These lessons would become formative later in Rivers’ life.

Unfortunately, before he could set his own parents on that path, Rivers ran from Gizport and found sanctuary within the Church of Corellon in Lanteen.

Life in Lanteen

In Lanteen, Rivers would befriend Rohan Baldrick and act as a quasi-spokesperson for Rohan’s alter-ego, Whiteclaw. He grew close to the town Sheriff, helping keep Lanteen safe from goblin attacks and petty criminals.

During this time, he also met what he considers to be his greatest accomplishments: his three surrogate children—

• Carter Baldrick (originally adopted by Rohan)
• Sam Baldrick (originally adopted by Rohan)
• Melony Guangxi (taken under Rivers’ care following the tragic death of her parents)

Adventures with the Silver Spear

Rivers’ adventure proved arduous. He and the Silver Spear defeated many evils, from Chordex in the Dark Moon Vale, to Jaxx Steel within the walls of Feel Good Inc, and finally the Divine Machine in the Astral Sea.

Along the way, he preached his oath and led by example to all who were in his presence. This leadership led him to form many alliances with elves and even to lead a nation, turning the Dark Moon Vale into the Opulant Republics of the Vale under the banner of Corellon.

His adventuring would only come to an end after the defeat of Corellon—and only after Corellon’s subsequent betrayal and attempt to usurp power from other gods.

Following the defeat of Corellon, Rivers returned the guitar to him.

Later Life

According to rumor and scattered reports, Rivers is allegedly alive on Westwynd and leading elements of Venoa’s forces.

Fun Facts

Rivers helped create the first Rock album under the alias Dragonknight and later famously wielded the first guitar ever created in the name of Corellon.
