The Auroran Sovereignty

The Auroran Sovereignty is the oldest of the standing kingdoms, with the city of Auroraea standing for all of written history. The "Golden Crown Above" sits atop the Gilded Plateau, high above the rest of the Veilands. The power of the Auroran Legions is well-known across the lands. The campaigns into the lands beneath are spoken about with praise and disdain, depending on who you speak to. However, the Legions have remained on their plateau ever since the conclusion of the Fourth War of Spear and Staff. Regardless, the Sovereignty remains a titan of political and military power in the Veilands.

Founding

The records of the sages only go back to the days following the Apotheosis. However, even in this time of ages long past, Auroraea stood tall. What came before the Apotheosis is unknown, but after the Apotheons sewed shut the tear in the world, the Auroran Sovereignty began.

Political Structure

The Sovereign

The Auroran Sovereignty has maintained its political hierarchy for millennia, and shows no signs of changing now. At the top of the pyramid of power, seated on the Luxon Throne, is the Sovereign Tiber Valerian. The Sovereign wields near-absolute authority in the Inauratus, and his word guides the march of hundreds of thousands. Valerian is young for the position of Sovereign, being only in his 32nd year. The Concilium

The Concilium is the primary body of legislative power in the Sovereignty. Made up of 1000 members, the Concilium handles votes on laws governing daily life before they are presented to the Sovereign for final judgement.
