The Reaver's Vale

The Reaver's Vale is a valley that lies between many empires, but has no banner for itself. Formerly known as the Crownvale, it now lies in abject ruin after years of war, banditry, and now plague have ravaged it. Now its inhabitants struggle over the remains of a once-noble land, fighting against the monsters in the dark and their fellow man alike.

History

Founding

Founded after the civil war following the Apotheosis, this valley surrounded by mountains was established as the Crownvale, and its people the Valiant. Being located at a vital thoroughfare between other major empires, it stood as a hub of economic and cultural trade. The Vale flourished in this position, establishing its own culture among the other great kingdoms.

Political Structure

The Reaver’s Vale is unique amongst its neighbors, for it does not have a unifying government that rules over the region. The political powers of the region are organized into fiefdoms that rule over their own regions of the Vale, each with its own customs, laws, and vassals beneath it. These fiefdoms have a tense relationship with one another, with most interaction being curt or outright hostile.
